There were a couple of major reasons to why the treaty of versailles caused tension that led to world war II.

First, it placed all the blame for world war I on germany, when all germany was guilty of was escalating it.

The treaty also put several severe economic strains on germany by forcing them to pay reparations for the war. This created the perfect environment for hitler to take power. The german people were looking for change and someone to blame for all of their problems.

Those are all i remember..

The victors from World War One were in no mood to be charitable to the defeated nations and Germany in particular was held responsible for the war and its consequences.

Linked to the "Big Three"(Britain,France&America) was Italy led by Vittorio Orlando. Italy did not join in on Germany's side but waited until 1915 and joined the side of Britain and France. This association with Germany was enough to taint Italy in the eyes of the "Big Three".
