I have a good chance of getting hired, but need to take a physical exam for the Dept. of Transportation being I'll be driving company vehicles. I know there will be a drug test involved, and I have nothing to worry about, but I have a fear of needles, and was wondering will they take blood, or just urine? Also hear they could take a folical of hair.....does anybody know the process of an exam like this?

Our company only takes urine. I think that is pretty standard.

We test all new hires and have random testing every six months or so. An outside company does the work and I have never seen them use a needle.

You may have to have someone in the room with you to verify the sample was not brought in.

I am a FedEx driver and in the 5 yrs I've been there and had to take physicals/drug tests they always just did a urine test. Even when I took drug tests for part time jobs back in college they always did the urine test, never anything else. You have the exact opposite fear as me, I get freaked out because they give you like 60 seconds to pee in a cup and are standing right outside the door. Lol, I guess it's just too much pressure for me. Last year the made me drink like 4 cups of water because I wasn't able to go on the first try.

They won't take your blood. Normally it's a urine test sometimes a hair test for drugs. I've taken numerous physicals for jobs and none required the use of needles.
