Thanks sports_guy for your insight, I will speak with ESPN to see if we can get a toenail trimming tournament in place. I am sure that will greatly improve Joe’s online poker skills. You should look into using a poker odds calculator and a poker advisor like poker pro 2006 as it will give you recommendations to the best action to take for each hand in real-time as you play. You can also get a book like “ small stakes hold’em by sklansky or play like the pros by hellmuth.

You don't want to come to rely on calculators and things like that. If you ever decide to play real games, you won't have them available and that could hurt. The best thing I can tell you is learn to be PATIENT! The cards will always come if you wait. Resist the temptation to bet bad cards just because you are bored. Pick up a poker book or two and learn how to play depending on position, starting hands and the style of the opponents you are playing. Good luck!

For one thing, what are you playing? No matter what most people on Poker online are agresive, therefore, you need to also be agresive. and also no matter what I agree with Celo in that you shouldn't just bet random things because you're board, but in texas hold'em you should consider betting low suited cards, and always call suited cards in the small blind. In five card draw, wait until you have a decent pair, two pair or better before betting, or you can bet flush draws. These are just a few little tips I have from my own experiance, and I also with Celo that you should get a couple poker books and fool around a little bit to see what you like. I do think that you should have availabilty to calculating odds, but make that calculater in your mind, in other words, learn how to calculate the odds, don't use a calculater to do it for you. As I said, just fool around and listen to books you read ( mostly) and just see what you like to do, and develope a style of your own.

Use a Poker Calculator and the best one is Poker Pro 2006 - it auto connects to your table and gives all of kind odds and stats as you play. It also analyzes your opponents as you play in real time. It’s easy just a bit of practice.

Sir let me help you out the answer to helping you out is not playing at all it is all rigged and the players online are getting dumber and dumber. Most places like neteller are starting to ban depositing to poker websites anyway. Your time would be much better spent doing something advantagous to like trimming your toenails, online poker is a bad idea
