What would you do if you were on the basketball team at a junior highschool. You had to practice everyday from 3:00pm-5:00 pm. your coach was very mean, and you didn't like basketball as much as you used to. You have to run whenever you make a mistake. The coach makes you feel like you're never good enough. Would you quit or what? Have you had something worse than this?

I was in the same position-I quit. I love basketball a lot; after all, it's the only sport so far where my height is an extreme advantage. But really, the coach here was awful, we were at practice almost an hour after we were supposed to be done most days, and we didn't win very many games. I ended up joining the cross country team-wish I'd done that from the beginning, instead of wasting time with basketball.

The point is, if you feel you're being treated unfairly (i.e. not enough playing time for the work you do) or you can't really see yourself playing basketball for anything but fun after high school, I'd say go find a more casual team (one not associated with your school. But then again, you're in junior high school. It might be wise to suck it up and finish the season, try out again next year, and if you still hate it, quit then. Good luck, whatever you end up doing

i stopped trying out after the first time i made the team..for the same reason you complain about. If basketball is what you think you can make a living out of in the future, then stay on the team, but if you cant imagine yourself making a college team, then quit.

i'm irish and we have native sports like hurling and gaelic football.; from a young age most irish kids play these games to their teens and beyond as amateurs and nothing else but the both games are a lot more skillful compared to the professional games like soccer, baseball, american football or even basketball. the treatment your getting is like the treatment i still get. you only play the game cause you love it. your told, even if you're the best, to try harder cause you're not good enough. believe your good enough and play the best you can. and no matter what the coach tells ya if you're on that team you're good enough, he just wants the best of ya. professional sports are a sham these days. i watched and played amateur sports as a kid and they're the best ones cause its all heart

EAT IT.......Take it like a real woman. Hustle, show your coach what your made of. When you make a mistake, run hard. Its all about the hustle. And if your not tough enough(which im sure you are)quit. But if you do quit, you will probably regret it.
