I have original 1930's wooden floors in my house. Problem is there are several pet 'stains' and I don't know how to clean them and make them look shiny again. Suggestions?? Thanks in advance!

The only thing you can do is sand them down and refinish them. The stains may be deep enough so that you have to use a bleaching agent as well. Sometimes sanding isn't enough. Then, if there are still traces of stain left, you will have to pick a finish tint dark enough to hide the stains.

Had the EXACT same problem in a 1920's house. Large, almost black urine stains all over the floors.

You can take out the damaged wooden pieces and patch the floor with new pieces. To do a good job of it, you ought to sand and varnish the whole floor afterwards.

This happened to me in our last home which was a lovely victorian. Anyhow when we pulled up the carpet in one room the stains were large and near black. My husband tried to just sand them out, and refinish them but it didnt work. Then he tried to bleach them out, but its not the same type of bleach we use on our clothing. In the end we had to replace the boards..good luck
