Its called "irregular periods", its very common with young starters.I been on mine for 6 years now and mine were a little unstable but its because your body is new to this and its adjusting. its like a pregnant woman and morning sickness. Irregular periods are just the beginning of it. Later on you'll start to get cramps, bloating, and the most common, crankiness. But dont be scared, they have medicine for all that.

The short period and the discharge in between are perfectly normal, especially if you've only been mestruating a couple of years or so. Your period will line itself out in the next year or so. Worry when you're bleeding heavily for more tan 6-8 days OR if there's a really bad odor/color to your normal discharge.
Here's a couple of websites for young women on mentruation
www.teachingteens.com/tmentsr.htm
and this is a cool site --- www.kidshealth.org go to the teens section, then sexual health, mentruation. I would save the kidhealth site to your favorites for questions about your health later on.

OMG! I just started getting my period too! Lol. Um, the first time I got it I had it for a week. And it has been 4 months and I still have not gotten it. My doctor said that it is normal for at first to have an irregular period, so you should be fine after a few others. Being a woman is pretty confusing isn't it? :P

Well,
I am no woman but I might be able to help. First off the question of are you sexually active, would be my first question. Also my other question is, have you ever been checked for STD's, because to all of my knowledge a person that has a yellowish clear discharge is the sign of an STD. Hope I Helped. My best advice get to a doctor.

Don´t worry, it´s normal for that to happen at the beginning. Your body will slowly mature and the periods will stop being confusing. Good luck.

If you're young its probably normal to have a regular period yet. But i would suggest making an appointment with your doctor. She can help you and amke sure nothing is going wrong.
