We'll keep talking about it of course. Tomorrow even. But no more Iraq today, please. If one more person says the war was for oil, I'll need to report them for stupidity.

Want to talk about what a f*ing mess the liberals have made of our educational system?

Totally cheating - copied one of my previous answers:

When teachers quit focusing on teaching kids to read and write, and instead started shoving liberal propaganda down their throats, that's when America really started going downhill.

Liberal teachers (which most are) are always complaining about how they don't have time to raise our kids - and they're right - they don't. So why do they have time to lecture kids who go hunting with their families about the "evils" of hunting? Apparently, some teachers feel it's MUCH better to turn on a video game console and make all of our kids little vidiots.

And then there's the whole red pen controversy. We have so many kids graduating as functional illiterates, but it that what the teachers of today worry about? Of course not. They'd rather focus on BS "issues" like red ink. Apparently, a lot of teacher have quit using red ink to correct papers because the red is too tramautic for our little darlings. Purple pens are now becoming the norm for grading papers. Here's how I see it - if a kid wrote a really crappy paper, and the teacher marks the hell out of it, does it REALLY matter what color ink was used?? Absolute insanity.

They are also teaching our kids to expect something for nothing. They are trying to eliminate any form of competition - some schools even going so far as to do away with class valedictorians. Why? "It's unfair to the other kids." Well, how about the kid who busted his or her butt to earn that valedictorian position? How fair is it to deny the hardest worker in order to appease some little snot who skipped all the time and didn't put forth ANY effort?

A lot of times, if the school plays a game, or has races, or something where an award can be given out, all a kid has to do is SHOW UP and he/she gets a ribbon or something. WTF is that about?!?

Teachers need to quit worrying about our childrens self-esteem - that's the parents job. They need to quit forcing "diversity" down our kids throat - again, NOT their job. Until our educational system gets a grip on reality and starts to focus on actually TEACHING again, things will never improve.

And for God's sake - don't say "spend more money". We spend a hell of a lot of money on our schools, and get very very little in return.

Our kids might graduate without being able to read, write, spell, or do math - but gee, they have *great* self-esteems. That will help them soooo much in the working world. NOT!

For starters congress did not vote to invade Iraq, following 9-11 congress voted to give bush the authority to invade the country responsible to ensure quick action. He abuse this power to invade Iraq. Firstly the invasion or Iraq was due to weapons of mass destruction that were not found, this story quickly changed to an al Qaida-Iraq link, which finally settle into liberation of the Iraqi people. Great so now we have in ineffective Iraqi government overseeing a nation in the midst of a civil war, with our troops caught in the middle. This is not an idea situation. Secondly the economy is terrible. The Bottom fell out of t the housing market which caused all sorts of credit calls, so now you see a decrease in the stock market. Eventually you are going to start seeing an even greater increase in bankruptcies. The USA also currently has one of the highest unemployment rates in over 50 years, which if the stock market suffers anymore will increase. The USA has a literacy level less than every other industrialized nation, bragging about the fine job the school systems are doing at this point is a little premature as they are still pumping out illiterate kids. These are not wild Internet theories, this is the reality and if you still think the state of the USA is top notch you should really re-evaluate your standards and expectations. You asked what has he done wrong? His blatent lack of accountability to the poeple is offensive enough. This is without going into the variable trusth extensions, climate of secrecy, or abhorant foriegn policy that almost resarted the cold war, his inability or unwillingness to actually pursure those resonsible for 9/11.......

O.K. fine the war in Iraq was to remove a terrible dictator, that torchered innocent people for ignorant reasons. And after the war was won, then we stayed to help build the country back and prepare the Iraqi government and military to fight against the insurgents. And yes the war was originally started over WMD's which Iraq had, but later became Operation Iraqi Freedom. There it wasn't over oil.

So, just out of curiosity, why do you think it not about oil? I mean, think about it for a minute. Ultimately everything is all about oil in the middle east. If it wasn't for the oil there, do you really think we'd care what goes on in that part of the world? Would we be friends with the Saudis? Would we really care if Saddam was in power or not (remember when he was our allie when he gassed his people and we didn't say anything about it until years later) They certainly wouldn't have any money! No, we wouldn't get two shakes of a rat's tail what goes on in the entire middle east if it wasn't for oil. If all of the oil in there was instead under, say, southeast Asia (Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos & indonesia) we'd be trying to have a presence and influence (ie: meddling) over there instead. As it is, most of southeast asia is poor, oil-less and nobody really cares what goes on over there.
I hope you can see my point.

The war was for oil!!

Do me a favor, quite talking about illegals and start talking about their mostly Republican employers who pay them serf wages, which is a crime!

Heaven forbid we talk about a place where 25 military were killed as of just a few hours ago this month, and the 25,000 we have had killed and wounded in Iraq in a quagmire you would like to forget!!

I am tired of the WMD BS as Saddam had none, just as Hans Blix and others told Bush before the invasion! Even Bushs administration said it!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oN5yvoIsnnE

Iraq had nothing to do with terrorist! Or 9/11!!

Are you telling me we went to Iraq for Bush's 14th reason, to remove Saddam? Why???

Bush's daddy said this:

"I don't believe in mission creep," he continued. "Had we gone into Baghdad -- we could have done it, you guys could have done it, you could have been there in 48 hours -- and then what?

"Which sergeant, which private, whose life would be at stake in perhaps a fruitless hunt in an urban guerilla war to find the most-secure dictator in the world?

"Whose life would be on my hands as the commander-in-chief because I, unilaterally, went beyond the international law, went beyond the stated mission, and said we're going to show our macho?" he asked. "We're going into Baghdad. We're going to be an occupying power -- America in an Arab land -- with no allies at our side. It would have been disastrous."

Bush said, "We don't gain the size of our victory by how many innocent kids running away -- even though they're bad guys -- that we can slaughter. ... We're American soldiers; we don't do business that way."

We are going to be sending in 25,000 more military to die in a civil war that doesn't have anything to do with teerorist, and you want to talk about Illegals! Now there is something really important that the Republicans did not take care of for 12 years they were in power!

Do you want to see where more than 1/2 of Iraqi's oil goes? Take a guess and report me as stupid!

Willis, the war isn't about oil, it is about control of the price of oil. Trouble is it has backfired. Like everything else that the repuglicans have done in the last 6 years. These days it is just great to be a liberal.
