Just wondering where the story of the cops and doughnuts came from... Just something I thought I'd see about...

Doughnut shops used to be the only thing open way back when
and dougnuts, well they're easy to eat and dip in coffee and I guess it's kind of considered a lazy food. People always seem to be blaming cops as lazy as well.
Another interesting note
you know how you call them "Cops"
well they used to wear big copper buttons way back when and people used to say "here come the coppers!" still do today.

Way back when doughnut shops were the only places that stayed open late.

' Cops drink coffee all the time,dough nut shops are everywhere are open all night.Most shops give regulars(cops) free doughnuts they are good filling,and if they get called out they can run with the food.

i would think cuz they drink coffee alot and coffee and doughnuts go together
