Men cheat on their wives for 2 reasons:

1. They like to take advantage of all opportunities.

2. They think they can get away with it.

Don't try and complicate the answer. Its plain and simple. A man can love his wife, but if the opportunity exist, then they think with their "other" head.

Aside from being completely selfish. They do it because of how they feel about themselves when they are with the other person. So, it doesn't matter what the wife looks like. She can be beautiful or homely. If she is constantly nagging him, and tearing him down he will soon find comfort in the welcome arms of someone who treats him like he's a God. Is it justified? NOPE. Yet, their inborn selfish need for gratification be it sexual, or emotional takes over. If they aren't mature enough or built of a stronger character they are unable to fight the temptation of some homewrecker who willingly caters to his ego.

The situation involving your husband/boyfriend and your relationship would have to be studied to narrow down the vast number of reason that this occurs. Why men cheat on their wives for a number of reasons. I was cheated on, I am an Ex wife. I kept a clean house, dinner on the table, laundry done, the girls were well mannered and behaved, I hated to shop so I was not a spendthrift, I liked to keep myself fit and trim, unless I was sick I was always dressed with a minimum of makeup on. I not only kept the housework done but I loved to work outdoors, gardening and painting were my favorite things but I did mow if he asked and helped rake the leaves. I bowled in leagues, had monthly card clubs, volunteered at a daycare center 2 days a week and read (I love books). I detested soap operas, but was addicted to game shows. I was 13 years younger than him and after we married found that country music wasn't all that bad to listen too, our one big difference when we first met....He loved to drink and party, he thought going to the bars every night after work was relaxing. He always said staying at home just aged a person and he wasn't about to get old. On weekends we generally went away, we had camp property about 2 hours from home. On the weekends we couldn't go to camp he went to the bars. His hours in the bars varied, anywhere from 3 hours to after closing, sometimes as late as coming in at 6 AM showering and going to work. He had alibi's, he stayed till closing, went to eat with friends from the bars, played cards with some friends, always he had a reason. On the occassions I had a sitter or after the girls were grown and I went with him we were out an hour or 2. He was tired or nobody out to talk to or the bands were boring. After 20 years of marriage I got tired, I waited until close to midnight then got dressed and went to the bar he was at. He never knew I was there, never took his eyes off the pretty young thing he was with, I sat and waited until the band played the last song of the night, a nice cozy little number, Right in the middle of the song I walked out on the dance floor where they were cuddled so nice and tapped him on the shoulder and said " you said if I ever caught you doing anything you would be ashamed of doing in front of me you would take these rings back, no questions asked and give me my freedom. Here you go." I gave him our wedding rings, the girl he was so intimate with cursed me loudly, and the bouncer told him I had watched him for over 2 hours and had him dead to rights. I walked out of the bar with my head held high and filed for divorce the next morning, I've never looked back and regretted a thing. I never thought I deserved to be cheated on and I wasn't taken it no more. So if any one knows why a man cheats I'd really like to know myself
