China already has more than 1 billion people. If people still kept having lots of children, they would run out of room. However, there are a few exceptions posed to farmers and minorities. In addition, if you have twins or triplets or more than that, you may keep all of them.
In the past, regulation was fierce, so bad that women who were pregnant for the second time were arrested in the midst of what they were doing and carted to abortion clinics against their will.

Because their population is so very high that the land and economic situation can't provide for all the people. If too many children are born, there won't be enough food or resources to keep people alive.

You cant blame china for its over-population ... its so overpopulated already that whenever a dude gets a b0ner, he accidently impregnates a girl... Its a tight squeeze in China!

Because they are over populated. They consume everything in sight and are dying in their own waste. India also has a strong birth control policy. The USA will also have to face this problem in the near future.
