Post surgery complications .I had lysis of adhesion removal of the intestines,Several months ago since?

When I woke from surgery my skin was palor unlike pre op.I have good color in my skin I've been extemely dizzy,confused,severe abdominal muscle contractions .I've had nurmerous surgeries for the same issue ,but none with these debilitating complications 3 months out .First I just thought it was the anathesia after 2 months went by apparently I was wrong ,along with the incision I don't know who to go to , The surgeon said to see a neurologist . It can't possibly be neuro I think he's just trying to pass the buck. I also had a CT of the Ab wall which was unremarkable ,maybe some of the symptoms are neuro ,but absoltely not the cause .Any knowlegeable suggestions appreciated.

lysis of adhesions and "extemely dizzy,confused,severe abdominal muscle contractions "--- the symptoms and the problems you indicate if clearly stated by you are not one problem per se.

Complications from lysis of adhesions can be more adhesions, more surgeries at a later date, a possible bowel obstruction or ileus (these are resolved prior to discharge in most cases). But they can reoccur. The symptoms of bowel obstruction is nausea and vomitting. The symptoms of ileus the same. All of these problems can go together but the way to know for sure if you are having this problem are NO bm's, poor appetite, abdominal swelling.

Dizziness- can be a sign of having a hematocrit that is lower than normal. This can be normal after surgery and it takes a while for your blood levels to recover after surgery. Dizziness can also be the side effect of pain medication, low blood pressure or inner ear problems. If the doctor indicated that your blood levels or hematocrit is normal, this is not a bleeding problem.

Confused? Interesting description. I am not sure what you mean, but if you have been occasionally confused, it could be the pain medication. You could be on a different one that you are tolerating differently. Not sure what you mean here, but it is not a one to one correlation w/surgery, particularly if you are not older like older than 65.

Severe abdominal muscle contractions This is the side of having bowel surgeries, particularly repeat ones that no one likes. You may be having a hypersensitive reaction to normal bowel function. Like you body is just starting to notice that it is working where as it use to not notice. It is possible that it is neurologic. I doubt that the surgeon would just pass the buck. I think it is more about how your body is reacting to repeat surgeries.

Since a new evaluation could help I would suggest that. But I also would encourage you to keep track of when you feel bad. Is it after eating. First thing in the morning or more at night. Think of if the symptoms that you keep having happen together or at different times.

I am tempted to say that you are describing more than one problem. If you have read up on the surgeries that you have had, you know that bowel resections, removal of adhesions, and complications all go together. A gut problem (lets say you had colitis or diverticulitis) are chronic in nature and it is essential that you follow a strict nutritional plan to avoid future problems.

I hope that some of this has been helpful for you. I would think that you are familiar with much of it. But remember that "numerous surgeries" mean more risk of problems. It is the nature of the beast. Seek out further medical explanation but understand that you may start having some pain. There is no miracle cure for anything.

Okay. yes u no what u are into. i believe u had a something removed from your intes. more like taken off of int. great u have ur color back good sign. successful oper. u waited long enough i procrastinate also i am today still giving advice and not taking my own thats just me as u all of the symptoms seem to be referring to the nervous sys after surg. now comes contractions of muscle somthing u didnt originally have prob with cut nerve , check your meds go to neuro and you sound enimic. u hr me go for u nobody can really help u like this. were on freaking typewriters take care ull be alright sometimes after several surg as u hv cuz u no y u can get infect.

I don't see how problems in your abdomen would manifest in your cerebral area. Sounds like the surgeon doesn't know and is trying to "pass the buck". You may have complications like vagus nerve damage from the surgeries. Damage to it would produce the symptoms that you describe.
