Only about 20,000. Their desendants now number 100,000 or so. Interesting that they feel they are the masters of the native africans. It's a crazy world.

I gather that the majority of the population in that country is still not decended from slaves.
However one finds ironic their fighting with Sri Lyon, which was black slave trading state at one time. I think tables have turned tho in terms of who is aggressor and who is victim in that conflict but I confess I could be wrong.
