Hi, I agree with the other answers you received. I have chronic asthma which has me in and out of the hospital for overnight stays. Asthma is a really serious disease and should not be taken lightly. I am on a host of medicines, Albuterol, flovent, Advair, singular etc.. but that is what works for me. I can't have any pets or be around anyone who smokes etc.. Please help your sister get in to a good Pulmonary doctor soon! so that she can get the best treatment for her Asthma. It's good that you are concerned for her. Good luck!! and take care

If she has really bad asthma you have to consider many things, diet, quality of air, cleaning products around the home. Conventional medicine did not help my son. I suggest seeing a holistic healer, herbalist, or aromatherapist. My son has not had an ashma attack for a yr. since he got started on herbs and aromatherapy.

Depending on her age you may want to ask the physician about albuterol. It does not prevent the problem but it will help onset symptoms. Also, flovent and advair, the help to prevent future attacks!! Good luck.. My daughter has asthma.. I can relate.

She needs to be seen by a physician. With all due respect to Yahoo Answers, this isn't the sort of problem you want to depend on casual advice to get the right answer.

if that was really that bad, she must undergo some spirometry tests to know the severity of asthma and also type of asthma , before going to any medication. consult a pumlonologist or allergy specilaist!!!

I'd say a doctor would be the bast medicine. National Jewish is one of the best hospitals for children with asthma. I dunno the age of your sister though so...

only her doctor should be advising on that. He/she knows her medical history.
