I have a HP Pavilion Slimline s7530n PC. I recently bought a logitech chat headset with a microphone. The earphone plugins are in the front of my computer and in the back but when I plug in both in the correct spots (The Mic and earphones) only my mic works. I have to unplug both from my computer and then put the audio plugin into the front jack to hear anything but the my cord doesn't reach my mic jack. I can't seem to figure it out. I really want to use my headset to chat on MSN Live Messenger.

Can you pull the cord apart to stretch to the correct plugins?

If not....

Make sure your computer is set up correctly.

1. Go to Control Panel
2. Sounds and Audio Devices
3. Click the Voice tab and make sure it lists your Logitech
headset as the default device.

Well, you could get a cord extender from radio shack for a couple of dollars and connect one to the front and the other to the back but that would seem kind of goofy and not really solve the problem.

The HP web site offers this wealth of information about troubleshooting your sound - hope it helps.
