Is that weird of a man to do that?

He drives an 03 Ford truck and lives in an okay apartment and his place just looks so boring. He acts like he barely gets by but he makes $120,000 from being a pharmacist. He doesn't have high bills either.

It's just weird because as his friend, it just looks odd to know what he does and how much he makes and then see how he lives. Is he doing this so girls don't want him for his money or is he just not a big spender?

Well, maybe he wants to retire early. Or, maybe he's living within his means instead of beyond them. Maybe he has a secret life or someone he supports or lots of student loans or maybe he gives it all away. Some of our friends live like millionaires and make less than half of what we do, we live like we earn half of what they do. It's just our choice - we're not materialistic, but we do hope to retire while we're young enough to enjoy it.

He is losing a much larger portion of that money due to high taxes at that income level. Take out his rent, truck, etc and yes he has what to you is much money but it can easily be put somewhere such as in a retirement fund, investment fund, and other forms of spending. As an investment it is a responsible form of spending but it is still just as gone as the person that blows it at the strip bar. He needs to accumulate about $2.5 million in deferred income to fund a sensible retirement based on his income. Most people fall short of saving for what they should really have, he is probably wise. It is good to have a friend though that will urge him to have a little fun once in a while too!

I have a friend that has one and one half million in the bank and lives the same way...some people just don,t care for high living, they are happy as long as their automoble runs, and a roof over their head, cloths to wear and food to eat.Thats how my friend is so Im thinking thats how your friend is too..They know they can get what they want, but if they don,t need it whats the use....I have ask my friend about it before cause we are close, and she just says she has all she needs and don,t see the point in getting better if you already have enough to do with. She will squeese a tube of tooth paste then when its gone she tears the tube apart and scraps out the rest,I have ask her why and she said well why waste it..So I guess some people are like that...

You aren't alone dude, a lot of people are shy for numerous reasons. I'm a fairly shy guy by nature and it took some time and effort to overcome it (mostly anyway!). Forget about your teeth, stuttering, etc. Instead just enjoy the moment to moment experience of socializing and hanging out with friends or other people. If it helps remind yourself about your good qualities. People seem to like you the way you are so roll with that. If you're having difficulty engaging conversations talk about things you're really into or banter about common subject manner for more casual conversations (movies, sports, the typical stuff...).

Why is this weird? He is living within his income and saving his money.

Why does he need to splash out on a newer vehicle and a nicer apartment? Too many young adults spend every penny they earn because they want to outshine their friends and neighbors. They are afraid they will be shunned if they don't own the newest and the biggest.

He is wise and putting his money away for better things. Or a rainy day.

In the end, he will be much happier knowing that when everybody else is broke and in the hole, he will have uber amounts of money, to do as he pleases. And he is only 24, he is living as a 24 year old single male.

He just may not see the point of living lavishly or he may be saving up his money for a big investment. You never know but anyway it's his decision, maybe he just doesn't like to live like a star when people are sick and poor, who knows?

He's probably not a big spender and smart about his life and money. He could also be as well saving for something, i.e. start up his own business.

Your friend is just not into material things. Some of the richest people I know drive older cars and shop at WalMart. They're just not into "stuff". And alot of the folks I know who drive flashy cars and have the best toys are up to their eyeballs in debt.

I had a friend like that and he ended up being a millionaire by the time he was 30. Maybe he is "thrifty" to save money?
