I do and I can't figure it out. I can understand people being bitter when the world doesn't revolve around them. But in our free-market money-is-the-only-value capitalist society - why are those with all the money so bitter?

andy g - hard work also does not make a person wealthy. It makes their bosses wealthy.

Mr. Bellows - I'd like to tax the rich to pay for your health care. So why are you a conservative?

The grocery clerk makes about $500./month, her manager
makes about $3500./month - this country is in need of some
serious checks & balances.
Why are they bitter? - To cover up the guilt. They know what's
going on, but just can't give up their good thing.
They'll be consequences down the road unless this congress
performs a miracle.

I think that is an unfair statement. Bitterness is across the board. And I'm not sure the word bitter is always accurate but all the same we all have our good days and bad. I see a lot of anger and bitterness in those who do not have as much as I. I can remember not having as much either. So I can relate. It is a hard feeling. Life is not easy. And it is all relative in that we all have our financial demands regardless. My anger/bitterness is in the unfairness that continues to perpetuate against one specific group/race of people in America.

I see a lot of good will from those who have lots of money. I am disappointed that much of it is directed out of the United States.

I think the person who posted this question lives a sheltered life in that they have never really experienced "bitterness" as you might find it in the streets of Chicago or other big cities where you find more "bitterness" and less "Conservatives, wealthy or not."

More wealthy maybe, bitter no. Hard work is rewarding but it does not make a person bitter

Ahh I see no e-mail which means no debate skills. Everyone has the same opportunity in America I choose to work hard and become successful, others choose to hold out their hand and let the government take care of them. Working hard and striving for better makes people wealthy, and in turn it makes the "lazy" ones who depend on the government very bitter.

you sound a little bitter, perhaps you're just a little envious of what they have so it makes you feel better to think they are so bitter! how many wealthy republicans do you know personally to make that call? Maybe if you weren't a long haired freaky guy then you would be a bit happier. :) or you could just play the lottery and win big money, then you to could be miserable.

AMEN MR. BELLOWS... you said it

Because people like you want to take our money and distribute it to the lazy welfare class.I am by no means even well off but I am a conservative and I work hard for my money and I am struggling just to be able to afford health insurance. So when someone like you and your clan of communists wants to take my hard earned money and "distribute it to the "poor and underpriveleged",yes it makes me bitter.Do you know what else makes me bitter?? When a baby making white trash welfare queen can sit on her lazy ***,smoke pot, make more kids, get food stamps, free medical care, and help with her rent, all at the expense of my hard earned tax dollars. And I work 50 to 60 hours a week to struggle to pay for my own health care, because I am paying for hers???!!!!! You call that FAIR????? That makes me sick!!!!

My stepdad worked his *** off for many years and succeeded in building up his drilling business and now makes $200,000 a year. Yes he is bitter but I would be too if I worked 12 hours a day and had to deal with hippies protesting at the drill zones.

i started with nothing. now own 81 acres of pristine va wilderness, 2 homes, @ 10 cars and trucks. have employees that are faithfull and hardworking. i push them to get the necessary certifications so in the end they can be self-supportive. put a couple of people through college. my 20 year old son will have his phd in physics within 18 months, hes already lined up to go to work for nasa. i'm not bitter, i'm proud! it seems to me that you may be the one that is bitter. you can start with a haircut. people will immediately start to see you in a different light.....

I am not bitter. I just want the right to spend the money I have earned on the things I choose, not on what I am told that I have to spend it on. What is so hard to understand, I earned it? Why should I pay more for working harder than most? No one helped me start my businesses!

No. Each conservative is an individual. It's just in your head that they are all the same and that it's something you don't like.

I was going to say that you're the bitter one, but you're damned right I'm bitter.

It really pisses me off that my husband and I work our butts off, and people like you whine that we should help support people who do nothing to help themselves. If you want nice things, work for them. If don't want nice things, don't bust our chops.

Oh, and we're firmly middle-class - my husband is blue-collar all the way. So spare me the rich crap - whine at your Hollywood liberals. I sure as hell don't sleep on $700 sheets or fly around in a private jet.

Have a nice night.
