Have you ever been HOMELESS or very POOR?

What was it like? Where did you go? What did you do? And how did you get out of it?

This is kind'a a long story, but if you're willing to read, here goes:

I was born rich. I don't know what happened, but soon we (My family) got VERY poor. We sold everything we had, except one car, witch we were left with by law, a large Volkswagen.

After that, we came to Iran, (My fathers home country), and lived with my Grandpa (who is a miser). We lived there a year.

We then returned to America to collect our money from selling our very expensive house. We lived in our car (the VW) for almost a year (I was only nine). Since he had little money, we couldn't enjoy eating snacks 'n' stuff like that, we saved the money for gas.

Eventually we got our money, and rented a house in Scottsdale, Arizona. My Dad had problems there too, so after a year, we were broke once again, and came back to Iran.

Now we are in Iran, struggling to live. I worry about bush sending troops here, I'll get killed (Now I'm fifteen)...I have no access to the out-side world, and I miss my friends...

That's my story, but you probably don't believe me...No one does...
But I swear on my family that's the truth! I hope you believe me...

Yes, I have been homeless several times, and I am not exactly what most people would even call comfortable now, but I have been worse off, even when I wasn't homeless, than I am now!!! It would take too long to really describe what it was like on a forum like this. There are so many variables!!! The experience is different for each person who goes through it, and to really get a real sense of what it is like, you would have to do an in depth interview with lots of different people who have been through the experience, and let them all tell you their individual stories in their own way!!!!!!

I can tell you now, that that kind of experience will tend to change your attitude about many political issues in some very profound ways!!!!

yes I was homeless. It was very scary. My ex up and left me and 2 kids homeless and I called children services for help and they helped me get a house. We are still poor though
