Easy NoSew softie Dollie
sock, fleece blanket

cut a fleece balnket into a long rectangle aboout 9" x 18".
and one rectangle about 9" x 12 inches.
Begin with the larger rectangle:
cut one end into five inch long strips as many as you can close to 1/2" wide more or less.
roll up a clean sock into a ball. Place the sock about eight inches down from the top and roll the fleece loosely around it. tie all the fringes two at a time together into knots making hair and securing the top of the doll. roll the second rectagle longways into a tube and tie at the base of the head, then tie a knot at the end of each arm.

Sock puppet,
sock, pieces of felt for eyes, mouth, yarn for hair.

Spool car
Spool of thread, button, small rubber band, pencil
lace thread throough the button and tie it to the rubber band.put other end of rubber band through the spool, and put the pencil into the loop created by the rubber band coming out the spool, wind it and wind it and wind it, then let go,,its a racing spool car

Sock Puppets are great
sew a half circle of felt (or something stiffer) on the toes and on the heel - the flat edges face each other.

Buttons make cute eyes but below 4yo, depending on the little one, you should probably stick to stitching eyes on with thread.

It takes about 5 minutes, after you collect everything

bypass to Wal-Mart, get each new child a motorcycle, probably sixteen" for the older 2 and a 12" for the greater youthful. Then get them each a studying game device, with a game, like Leapster Lmax or V-smile. you ought to get the 6 year previous a race set or any variety of trucks/autos/planes. The 5 year previous, they like Barbies, Little puppy keep, Bratz, and so on. the three year previous, prepare set could be neat. Then get some board video games. there is alot you may get those little ones with $six hundred to make their Christmas magical. solid luck & God Bless!

Can you make a coloring book? Or is that not considered a toy? Also Kids like boxes, you could make a doll house out of a box or something.

you could take small rocks from outside (not too small as a really young child could choke------ ones with at least 1 flat side so they won't roll away)

clean the rocks

use different color nail polish to decorate the rocks with faces, clothes shoes etc

kids could use these to "create" little rock people

four-five rocks would make a rock person
1 hat---1 head---1body with arms---1 legs---1 shoes

the same rocks could be used for counting and matching games

how many hats?
where are all the red pieces?

good luck &have fun

Well, there's often quite a bit of difference between what you'd make for a 6 month old and a 6 year old. Here are some things to check out though:

You might try a fabric book made of old clothes. I used one of these to teach my kids colors and some shapes too. Depends on how old the kid is though.

a really simple one is a hula hoop. a length of irrigation pipe or stiff hose and some colourful electrical tape to bind it. may not be that indepth or educational, but it gets them away from the tv!

Empty a watter bottle (the small ones) put some chick peas, lentils or rice in it, put the lid on and there you have an easy baby shaker!! I made one for my baby and he loves it.
