OK, who did you kill? Wife nagging you to the point of insanity? You can plead temporary insanity. That guy on TV Billy Mays says Oxiclean can get it out. Otherwise call the professional carpet cleaner - tell him it was an accident (wink wink nod nod)

If it is a small area, flush well with cold water, using a white rag blot up the area. Use an Ammonia Solution - Mix one tablespoon of household ammonia per cup of water. Please note: Be aware that ammonia, if used improperly, can cause a color change. Be sure to test a hidden area. Be sure to work from the outside of the spot inwards, so as not to spread it. Always blot, don't rub, it will just push it further into the carpet.
If it is a large area, hire a professional to come clean the carpet. They have solutions that not only clean the carpet but to disinfect it as well.

Put a scoop of Oxy-Clean in a small spray bottle. Fill the bottle 3/4 (not to the top) with hot water. After it settles, spray and blot the area.

Do what the last guy said. One question though: How did you get blood all over the carpet in your apartement??

To get the blood out use Spot Shot and don't rub it , blot it. To get the scent out pour baking soda instantaneous while that's dry and leave on for an afternoon or so. Vacuum , if it nonetheless smells extremely do it lower back. Baking soda will absorbe the scent.

I hope you didn't murder somebody! :)

Just cover it up with something, and hire someone to clean it up. Scrub it with oxyclean and it can go away, maybe.
