I need to explain to a girl that it is unhealthy for her to think that her boyfriend is her property. I know that it is unhealthy, but I don't know how to explain it to her.

It's unhealthy to think that way because everyone has their own free will.

When someone believes they "own" another person they also believe they can control their thoughts and/or activities.. Trying to control another human being is known as abuse.

HEY AS MANY TIMES THAT YOU EXPLAIN IT, IT STILL MAY NEVER REGISTER TO HER BRAIN THAT SHE CAN DO BETTER AND STOP HOLDING ON SO TIGHT. pEOPLE COME AND PEOPLE GO IN YOUR LIFE, SO JUST THINK OF HIM AS A LEAF ON A TREE. HE'S YOUR'S FOR ONLY A SEASON.

Just ask her if anyone will ever "own" her... of course she'll say HECK NO! Tell her to think how he must feel.
