Why do feminists insist on their analysis of abuse as caused by 'patriarchy' when it is proven wrong?

If it has been shown that women are equally, or more violent, in relationships than men and violence in lesbian relationships occurs with ATLEAST the same frequency.

Then why do feminist dv advocacy groups still go on and on about DB being caused by 'patriarchy', for example the recent UN report on violence against women (which was rebuked) was patriarchy patriarchy patriarchy:

Tell a Girl/Woman who has just be belted by Her Mother/Sister/Lover that assault is a "Male" thing. I've seen too many battered "Girl Friends" to believe that Women are not just as violent as Men, if not indeed more so!
