The US doesn't "occupy" any Asian countries at this time. The US does have military bases with troops in many countries, not only Asian countries. They do not interfere in the national affairs of those countries. Sometimes it is at the request of the host country; other times the US has a long-term lease on the land it is using. The US has friends (and enemies) all over the world, and this is why the US keeps a small military presence in many places.

Which foreign countries is the US occupying? What do you mean by occupation? Why do you have trouble with the use of indefinite articles?

Well, Japan's occupation was a condition of surrender in WWII. Korea's is part of the aftermath of Japanese occupation, I believe.
