It is a category B drug for pregnant women. This means that Animal studies have revealed no evidence of harm to the fetus, however, there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women.
OR
Animal studies have shown an adverse effect, but adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus in any trimester.

With A drugs being the safest for pregnant women and D and X drugs having the most potential for harm, a B drug is relatively safe to take.

However, if you want to be completely at ease, you can call your local Walgreen's pharmacy. Most are 24-hours and the pharmacists answer questions like these all the time. Just go to walgreens.com and find the location nearest you to call.

Yes, you can take it. It is in the same catagory as tylenol (catagory B). Just take as little as possible. Having diarrhea all the time isn't good for the baby b/c it can dehydrate her causing contractions and also less nutrients are getting to the baby.

How far along is she? Is she towards the end of her pregnancy? If she is, it's a common symptom that the baby will be coming shortly. It a sign that the body is cleansing itself before delivery. Good luck!

i wouldnt take anything unless you ask her doctor. but instead, try having her drink more milk, eat more cheese, and get alot more fiber in her diet. drink more juice, and eat things like whole wheat bread, and cereals and stuff good luck!
