If it's an avi or a file from the web your trying to open i'd make sure u have the lastest media player http://www.mediaplayer-stop.com and install the latest codecs pack http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/forpros/codecs/codecs.aspx but if it's a different file extension you may need to do some hunting for the right codec, could also be that your direct x or flash need an update.

prob need the right codecs... ie so knows say a div ani file from an xvid avi file

update your windows media player. go help menu and click on update. if it is still not working. ..umm try real player it is friendly.
