has anyone taking antibiotics and seemed to have gotten pregnant quicker or does it make it harder??? i have heard that when you are pregnant your cervix is hard at the bottom is that true???

A few antibiotics are known to interfere with efficacy of Oral Contraception Pills, but there remains a theoretical risk with ANY antibiotic. It has to do with changes in metabolism of estrogen by the liver as well as changes in the gut in absorption. I think most conservative providers give a warning that we just don't know for sure. Ethical studies cannot be done to provide this data to resolve the question. It is recommended that if taking birth control pills, while on antibiotics, a back-up method such at condoms should be used to prevent pregnancy
