Hi there!

No need to panic hon, what you're experiencing is totally normal. I have 12 piercings, and I experienced the same thing with all of them.

So long as they're not itchy or hot to the touch or sore, you've got nothing to worry about. Ear lobe piercings take over 6 weeks to heal, and since you got four at once, it'll take a little longer - about 8 weeks - and up until that point, they're likely to secreat a little crusty matter - the liquid is the same stuff as the crusty stuff, just not yet dried. It's normal, and a sign that the piercings are healing, the only time you should worry is it if takes on an offensive odour or becomes green or otherwise discolored. Otherwise, don't worry about it!

Change your earrings when the 8 weeks are up, if you choose, but make sure to put in good jewellery. If you like the look of rings, go for good-quality gold (18k at least) or Titanium (avaliable from most body piercers). Titanium is the best, as it is lightweight and good for piercings, and also comes in a variety of colors, including gold.

Good luck with your piercings, feel free to e-mail me if you have any other questions at alittlebitofnothing @ hotmail.co.uk

Oh, that's nothing to be concerned about if it isn't gross looking or smelly.

That's just your body's natural healing.

I suggest waiting 3 months before you change jewelry. It give the holes time to heal without damaging or shocking them further. If you change jewelry, you could cause infection. And that's not fun.

Just use an antibacterial foaming soap (like Dial) in the shower to clean your ears. What you want to do, twice a day, is get in the shower and let warm, not hot, water run over your piercings with the jewelry in. This will soften the crusty stuff so it doesn't irritate your piercings. Use the soap to gently clean around your piercings and rinse very well. Twice a day. Don't use alcohol, that strips the good stuff that helps your ears heal. And don't play with the new piercings either! That introduces bacteria, and that will cause infection as well.

So, just leave them alone for another month, see how they're doing, if the crusties have stopped, wait one week and then you can wear hoops. If you're still getting crusties, no worries, just wait it out a bit longer.

It's different for different bodies, so, even if you have a friend that says, "Oh mine healed in 3 days... I wore hoops." don't assume that yours will heal that quick as well! Just give your new piercings a little time to get adjusted!

No worries! The crustys are scabs from your ear healing and the "oozy" is just some of the "ick". Mine have been pierced for 18 years and STILL do that once in a while! Either get some cleaning solution from a place that does piercings or use alcohol and clean them daily. Be sure you're cleaning the posts too. It may take a few weeks or even many months but eventually this should all calm down. It's pretty common.

A little bit of crust basically shows that your piercing is healing.
However, from what you described, it seems liek your piercing is close to an infection, if not already infected.
There's two ways it could have become infected: because of microspray from the piercing gun was infected by a previous customer, or because of your manhandling of the piercing. Let's assume the later.
Studex recommends that you keep the original stud in for 6 weeks, which is somewhat the minimal healing time. By fiddling with the piercing, probably with unpierced hands, you've exposed the area to microbes, and this could eventually result in an angry cyst, a pus-filled red formation aroudnt he piercing.
Here's how to treat it:
1. Only touch the piercing when necessary. Don't let anything touch it, and make sure its rinsed throughly after a shower with clean water.
2. Wash your hands with soap before handling the piercing if you need to.
3. Everyday do a salt soak until you see some improvement, and then reduce the no. of salt soaks. Generally its daily for 2 weeks, then every 2nd day for the next 2 weeks, and then once or twice a week until healed, but it really depends on the situation.
4. To do a salt soak mix one cup of BOILING water and 1/4 tsp of sea rock salt (not iodized salt, you want salt in its pure form) in a cup and let this cool until its a comfortable temperature. Then place your ear/infected area into the solution for 15 minutes. Once 15 minutes passes, get a wet Q-tip and gently remove any crust, pus, ooze, etc and rinse the area with clean water.

Salt soaks work by being the same salinity as the body. It draws out impurities and etc out of the area to the surface of the skin, thereby taking out whatever microbes or toxins or whatever from the infected area.
Hopefully this helps.

In future, you can avoid this situation by always getting piercings done by an accredited, professional piercer (who NEVER uses guns, GUNS ARE BAD), and making sure the piercer gives you sufficient aftercare instructions which you shoudl follow 100%.
Cheers
Helenium

I don't do piercings as a job, but in my experience, you should leave the original studs in for 6 weeks, cleaning them with just soap and water. And remember to turn them every day. I just got my ear pierced through the cartilage on Tuesday, and it isn't oozing, but a little sore. I think if you use alcohol, it will dry out the ear and make it sore. Just use a warm wet cloth and a little sea salt a couple of times a day, and don't try to change the earring yet. The watery crusty stuff is your body's way of trying to seal the :wound". It needs to be cleaned thats all.

You are suppose to wait 6 weeks before wearing different earings after a piercing. The reason is it takes that long for the holes to become permanent. The stuff in your ears just sounds like a infection. I wouldn't worry about that because I get them all the time and it will just disappear. Dont muck with it though.

Put the piercing studs back in after dipping them in some antibiotic ointment like Neosporin (the kind with a pain killer in it is particularly good). After that, use alcohol on the site every day for at least another three weeks to keep it clean and healing properly. A little patience will result in a much cleaner piercing with better scar tissue.

I know that the piecing earring is supposed to stay in six weeks, so i would suggest washing your ear and putting the earrings back in and maybe putting vaseline on your ear. the crusty stuff is probably just puss because u just put a hole in your ear (lol), i wouldn't worry if it isnt hurting. you should change the earrings to hoops maybe after like two months.

It's normal.. You should wait at least until the hardness goes away, didn't they tell you how long to wait. Don't rush it!!
Every time I get a new piercing it usually gets infected so I found that using bacitracin works to heal the area. Put it directly on the earring so it can get inside.

i doubt it. i did mine myself, yet i have been given my 1st holes at claire's at the same time as i became like 6. a note of suggestion will be to maintain up you funds and pay for them to do the 2d holes with new rings, that way you recognize that's completley sterile and also you dont run as severe a chance of an infection. or you would possibly want to do it your self, regardless of the indisputable fact that it really is so a lot more desirable volatile and that i do not recognize how your father and mom would react so, bypass for the first option lol.
