OK so its a strange thing to ask but here it is. The side of my hurts not the inside of my throught but outside. Its hurts to the touch and its the left side almost that muscle on your neck.
Trust me people it ant whip lash.

Is there anything swollen? If something is swollen it could be a lymph node that sits-from where I picture what you were saying-on the side of your neck.
It could also be muscular in which case, just try to sleep with your head braced, and keep from irritating it too much.
Your best option would be to go to the Doctor, as he or she would be better able to help you.

first we have people on this web that only can be sarcastic because, why? they know nothing sh..for brains the muscle on your neck i hear ya get it checked that's the side your heart muscle is on. Anything swollen like the lady said swollen gland, or it could be lack of circulation due to your job. OR stress, get it checked out by a professional only for yourself high blood pressure comes with happening alot lack of circulation in any muscle is bad bad bad so please see dr. youll be okay pumpkin if u hear us
