LOL I lived in Savannah for years and when I tell people what a big deal St Patty's day is there they never believe me. Anyway I am sure all your friends would be understanding of you writing BYOA on the invite. Or if the people are coming in from out of town to stay for 3 or 4 days tell them to bring cash for the beer runs.
I had a party invite just the other week that said "BYOA or 10 dollars towards the pot" the host said everyone brought something there was plenty for everyone to drink.

I'd go with BYOB, everyone's been to a party where there wasn't enough booze to go around, and that bringing some booze for themselves was a good idea, that doesn't make you a bad guy. Seriously, no matter the age or class. BYOB, damnit. I'll provide the entertainment and crashing pad. You get yourself drunk. :)

I once got an invite that said "Keep the party going strong, bring a bottle!" it was simple and to the point and everyone brought something. Another party they had me and my best friend walk around in festive attire with a hat for beer runs later on! have a great party and stay safe

Buy a "gift" doesn't have to be expensive. Say something like "If you help out by bringing some Liquor you will be automatically given a rafle ticket for this prize"

Great question!
On a small card, print a shamrock and/or a leprachaun to decorate. You could try writing, "Please bring a bottle of your favorite liquor and a special or unique recipe for your favorite cocktails and mixed drinks to use it in. A prize will be awarded for the most delicious and the most creative!"

Include "Planning a Kegger" or "Help Me Help You", with DONATIONS REQUESTED following. Don't be shy, everybody knows booze costs. It's perfectly fine, ask any Ms. Manners or Dear Abby, they'll tell you the same. Very appropriate. Oh, then put at the end: "PS, aspirin and puke-pits will be provided".

I really think that if these are your friends they would want you to be straight forward. Give them the option to donate $$ or BYOB their all adults they'll understand

if your friends are decent people, they would bring some as a gift for you anyways, but if not, just say, this is what will be there, please bring anything that youd like to add to the celebration. and...can i come? its one of my favorite holidays. i will bring crown.
