ok, i have two questions. the first and most urgent one is this: one of my sims died and even though they were in the house it said they died on another lot and their spirit is going to return to their place of death. i left the game without saving, but the same thing always happens. how can i save my sim from this kind of death? also, i was wondering if sims can have an abortion? one of my sims was abducted by aliens and now hes pregnant and i already have one sim pregnant regularly and two other alien kids. i dont want any more kids in the family and i dont want to let they guy have the baby and then just kill it or have it taken away. i dont want it to be born at all.

well it said he died on another lot and no tombstone or the grim reaper or anything showed up. he just got all transparent and faded away

ok, i think the problem was that i accidently gave him an i am dead token, not know what it was or what it would do. how do they work and how can i get rid of it?

You can abort pregnancy, be it male or female by downloading the Insimenator from here: http://insimenator.net/
You will have to become a member t download, but don't worry its free.
As for the I Am Dead Token, the resurrecto-nomitron that comes with uni may work, but since it was done off the sims home lot, it may not respawn them correctly.

If you have university, you can get a phone that allows you to contact the dead. It's a career reward for the paranormal career, or you can unlock it with UnlockCareerRewards cheat. The more money you give to the grim reaper, the better off the resurrected sim. Go for about 9,000. The sim should come back healthy and happy to be alive.
For your second question, I'm very sorry, but Sims cannot have abortions. It seems the only birth control in the sims is abstinence. Maybe you'll learn to love the child? If not, you can move in an adult sim, then move him back out, taking the unwanted baby with him (after the child is born, of course).

Ok for the first one try this.
Go to one of their relatives or someone who really liked them and hit ctrl+shift+C all at once and the little box will pop up in the corner [after the sim that's being difficult dies of course].
Type unlockCareerRewards
That will unlock everything including the strange looking phone that you can use to bring that person back to life.
Make sure you pay a good amount when you bring them back or they'll be a zombie!
As for the second one, I have not found a cheat yet that allows you to abort a baby. I will tell you there is a way you can speed up the pregnancy and kill the child after its born.

R u play in ps2 or pc? If in ps2 u can control ur dead sim and meet the grim reaper and buy a back to life ticket. And I think u can't have baby...... Anyway, maybe u could kill ur baby with burn it near the stove or fire place? I'm not really sure about it.

i dont think u can prevent the death but on sims 2 on PS2 theres the grim reaper outside and u have 2 have a fiddle contest or pay him 2 come back 2 life on the 2nd 1 u might try dien' 2 get rid of the baby or try 2 get abduted agn and maybe it will go away idk.
