I would suggest the hard rock band Disturbed's first album The Sickness and second album Believe.

There are many other genres that would be good for working out, but it depends on the band. I introduced my uncle to Disturbed when he wanted some new songs for his iPod.

For songs: Dropping Plates, Glass Shatters, Liberate, Prayer, Bound, Numb, and many others. There are some good ones to work out to on Ten Thousand Fists (3rd album), but not as many as on the others.

If you're in top shape, "Surfing with the Alien" (Joe Satriani, 1987) will be hard to keep up with.
