its yellow and the light around the disc drive is on. this hasn't happened since I updated online on the wii

it does that because the first time u plug it in its a red light 2 let u know that u havent used that plug yet then once u turn off the wii its yellow.
Its a weird thing but thats how the Wii is

You then click "Slot Illumination" and turn it to bright, dim, or off.
