Why do you want 'fantasies' to go away?

2007-01-18 14:52:08 · answer #1 · answered by Kedar 7 · 0 0

I presume you're asking this because there is something about your fantasy that freaks you out. Maybe it's a fantasy about doing something you wouldn't want to do in reality. But having a sex fantasy doesn't mean you have to act on it. Fantasies help us to explore feelings (especially scary ones) safely. Anything goes in fantasy! It's only when we turn to acting on our fantasies that we must be concerned about things like "safe sane and consensual."

If you find that the fantasy intrudes on your life in such a way that it prevents you from enjoying ordinary things, and feels compulsive or invasive, the only known way to help with this is to take SSRIs or anti-depressants which are known to reduce libido.

The best way to ruin a good fantasy is to do it.
Better to enjoy the fantasy and don't even tell your lover.
If your lover has the same fantasy and you find out you may
ruin it for both of you.
