I'd go with purple,a dark shade of purple.Red was hot last season(still is when it comes to accessories),can't go wrong with black.
I think whatever color looks best on you. You can wear a few basic pieces(worth investing in like a fabulous jacket,dark straight denim) of clothing in neutral colors (white,black,beige,brown) and then pair them with different accessories that will add a splash of color.

Going into the new year it was all about neutrals, I think grey will pop up sometime.
