Babysitting twins?

Im might be babysitting 5month old twins this summer. What are some activities to do with them. what should i expect?

the most important thing for babies at 5 months old is to be with their mommy. apart from that, they need to be held a lot, talked to a lot, listened to a lot. mimic the sounds they make, pretend you understand, and carry on a coversation. show them items and name the items. sing songs. learn lots of nursery rhymes to recite. learn 'this little piggy' and 'roundy ball.' i always had to sing christmas carols, cause those were the only songs i knew all the way when i was exhausted and singing to babies. that, and 'mercedes benz' by janis joplin.

How fun! You should expect a full summer, they will still be dependant upon you for everything. Talking, singing and reading to them is a great idea. Playing soft music (of any variety--classical, kids music, I always had on this radio station Jack FM for my last baby it plays all sorts of music). Tummy time, either on a play mat or a blanket is also a great idea. It can be hard to be "stuck" at home so taking lots of walks is always a great idea. You could go to the park with them, bring a few blankets and use them for tummy time at the park or even if they remain in the stroller. Fresh air is great for babies :) Most likely they will still be sleeping at least 2 naps per day and there will probably be a good schedule to follow that the parents have set up. Following the schedule makes the day go by and is great for the babies development.

Are they five months now, or will they be 5 months in the summer? Either way, peek-a-boo is always a good game to play with babies. You can also roll a ball to them or tummy play games.
