Love is treating others the way you'd like to be treated.
The opposite of love is indifference (not hate). If you're not indifferent about someone then you love them. The word is 'agape' - you care about them, and wouldn't want harm to come to them...you'd help them in difficulties.
As for romantic love (eros, erota) ...it's a kind of mental disorder which can last for about two years...and may or may not be followed by real love (agape).

Love is the willingness to make sacrifices for someone. Sacrifices could be anything from setting aside time to sticking with someone through tough or uncomfortable situations. This goes for any relationship.Unconditional love is the ultimate sacrifice; accepting a person no matter what.

Do not believe that love is nonexistent. It is what keeps the human race going. It is what makes life meaningful.

Love is an all-pervasive feeling. The predominant feeling is not feeling attracted to someone, but feeling a craving, a sort of vacancy and incompleteness in the absence of someone.
Even when you are with him, you dread the moment of separation more than you enjoy the company.
You leave the rest of the world just to be with that someone.
You see, you KNOW when you are in love. No amount of words can express it.

Love is when you would give your life for whoever it is that you love. Love is when you will sacrifice all happiness to be with each other. Love is the purest emotion you can ever experience. It feels really good to be in love. Love isn't about looks, or smarts, or any of that stuff. Love is love and nothing is better. Once your in love your in love. Love doesn't get weaker or lessen, it only grows stonger and purer.

Love (like in relationships) is NOT a feeling contrary to popular belief.
Lust is a feeling.
Lust comes on real strong, then fades and eventually goes.
Love is a process.
Its ongoing, and unconditional.
It is NOT possesive.

Love is that feeling you get when like some one and it makes you wonder love really is. It makes you sick to see him/her talking about another love for fear of old feelings. Love makes you do dumb things like defend him/her to your family knowing that he or she did it.Love makes you sick because you want to be with him/her but you cant because of prior engagements.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

love is a way to fool ourselves....into thinking that what we are doing, is better than anyone else.

Example....

if we are doing things with our partners...we call it love....if we see another couple doing the same thing...we call it disgusting
