I'm 12 years old and my mom gets pissed off when I listen to Guns N Roses and others like that.

I listen to others, but not like Metallica and Marylin Mnason and that crap. I just like only rock that is explicit.

I already have heard all of the swearwords, my dad says them a lot. He doesn't give a crap if I listen to them. I know about sex and all of that. Im not completely "stupid."

I wouldn't care about that. Kids are going to be exposed to "bad language" somehow, and music (generally) does it in ways I deem apporpriate. I'd prefer my children (if I was ever going to have any) to learn about cursing through music than through tv since I could better monitor what they listened to. But, when you're twelve you've most likely learned all the "swear words" and crap like that. And if your mother is worried about sexual content than she has problems of her own since kids shouldn't be kept in the dark about that kind of stuff.
Guns and Roses isn't very explicit to me. Hardcore rap, various heavy metal, and certain alternative rock is. And as bad as music can get, it's not porn or something that should really be worried about.

Wow, loaded question there. While I grew up listening to rap and heavy metal, I had a strong personal ethic and a reliable father figure. I have to say that a lot of music today is a little rough for younger kids. As much as I dig Insane Clown Posse, I would have issues with my kids listening to them, because they might take the wrong things away from them.
In my opinion, you should respect your parents' wishes, but if they play it on the radio, you can't be blamed if they play GNR once in a while, right?

guns and roses isnt really explicit and well you know whatever music makes you happy and appeals to your ears you should be able to listen too. your gonna hear all the stuff sooner or later so might as well...

its just music.all music has some kind of explicit meaining(well not all of it just some)
