I am not too clear on this one. Is it because the fuel is being burnt after ignition so the total weight of the shuttle and fuel decreases?
Help will be appreciated.

Fuel is being burnt

yes what you suggested would be it . the shuttle is burning fuel in the first 20 seconds at a rate that would have to be almost like a bomb . well that's what it is a controlled explosion on a huge scale. getting the initial lift would be the part that takes up the most fuel i am sure.
in addition to the fuel going off the ship.
the ship is then defying gravity only slightly at 20 seconds but still it has left the ground and so it would be farther from the greatest gravity strength point that is the ground.

Yes, most of the fuel in the shuttle is burned off trying to accelerate against the earth's gravity.

The most dramatic weight decreases happen becuase of fuel and the rest because of altitude...the further away from the object of mass that creates the gravity...the less the pull

you light fuel, it burns, as it burns it uses its quantity up...so in turn it gets lighter and lighter every second that the fuel burns.

the big center tank is just liquid fuel being pumped out to the engines at (forget the exact amount) like 4 gallons per second.

Yes, as the fuel is burned, it is ejected out the jets, which is the rocketry, so its weight is lost.
