Why I choose to grow facial hair (goatee w/ mustache):
- look a bit older (mostly for work purposes, I'm a dispatcher who has to deal with a lot of very macho truck drivers - the older I look the better; I'm 28 - without it I look 20-21)
- save time on shaving - it takes me about 2 minutes to shave now; all the tricky parts get left alone; just have to trim once or twice a week instead of shave daily.
- I just like the way it looks
- gives me something to play with (twirling mustache like a cartoon villain is actually kind of fun)
Cons I've found to facial hair:
- it itches sometimes when sweating
- some women don't like it, it can 'tickle' I guess
- occasionally get zits under it, can't see them but can feel them

Facial hair seems good on Johnny Depp.Facial hair on Adam Lambert seems high-quality.I have not seen to many images of Adam with facial regardless of the reality that, yet they were beautiful.yet I choose facial hair on older adult men like of their 40s and up.i love youthful adult men like Adam Lambert of their 20s without hair.

Pros: covers up blemishes/scars, self-expression, don't have to shave (meaning you don't have to worry about a 5 o'clock shadow :) ) - but you probably Do have to trim it
Cons: does require maintenance, itchy, could make you look evil (goatees, case in point: http://itches.livejournal.com/299611.html), the transitional stage between NOT having one and having one (the rug burn your girlfriend gets from kissing you! LOL!), food can get stuck in it without your knowing/feeling it
could be good or bad: makes you look older (but a pro: maturity, wisdom - supposedly it gives that appearance-it doesn't necessarily have to be true ;) )
oh, and this is an interesting article you may want to take a look at: http://www.sharpman.com/Article.asp?ArticleID=411
and this is a really funny site of how having (and not having) a beard changes one's appearance (and how people see them - trustworthiness for example): http://www.pinktink3.250x.com/hmm/beards.htm

CONS: Most women find it very masculine to have, and have to wax it off, which may induce pain. It also requies daily to near daily maitence.
PROS: It can provide warmth, and if liked by the beholder, may be a styled part of the face.
