Would you partipicate in government and vote more if there was a full military draft such that 70-80% would be sent to Iraq and expect to see combat? How would it change your generation?

Just think...A draft "SHOULD" mean equal rights,so for every man drafted, a woman should be drafted. What a woos-bag military we would have then!!!

Well, I am a Republican and I would volunteer before that point. If it looks like there's going to be a draft, (which it isn't) you will find me in the United States Navy.

The wealthy are not always Republican. Somehow, I doubt Gates is a Republican.

A draft today will make some states to secede from the US and become independent. For instance New York, California. California alone can provide for the whole US, California pay more in then it gets back.

I think a draft would be a horrid idea. I don't believe people should be serving in wars who do not want to be there. I do think it would have caused Bush to only get "elected" to one term. I'd do anything possible to get my child (don't have any) out of serving in a war trumped up for BS reasons.

I am already registered for the draft. I have also served before.

If there were a draft - you would see republicans abandon their party in droves.

The wealthy don't want THEIR kids fighting - only other people's kids.
