Mariano Rivera is the greatest closer in the history of baseball. From what I understand, he is a nice person, a good autograph signer and a closer that any team will be lucky to have. He will surely have his number retired when he decides to hang it up. Rivera is a good closer and a good person. He played a huge role in the Yankees dynasty. Rivera is one of the best Yankees ever.

I like the guy, and he took a good ribbing when he got a standing ovation at Fenway Park on opening day in 2005 after the Sox won the World Series. Rivera was the the relief pithcer when the Sox beat the Yanks 4-3 in the AL Playoff series.

Save for the meltdown in the 2001 World Series against the Arizona Diamondbacks and the 2004 ALCS game 4 against the Red Sox, Manny Rivera is usually money in the big games. He is most definately on the short list of people I want in the 9th inning of any big ballgame to slam the door shut and get your team the win.

Best short Reliever ever. I think he is top of the list, infront of Sutter, Eckersley, Gossage, Fingers... those 4 being the best ever. PEople who try to hate on him because he's a Yankee just need to stop. His Numbers in Playoof games are Mind Boggling. He has had 3 hiccups, the Arizona WS in 2000, 1997 against the Indians, and 2003 against the Red Sox.... but considering he has pitched i believe over 70 games in the playoffs, 3 hiccups are excuseable. It still boggles my mind the 0.80 era he has in Post season play in 70 sum odd appearances.. thats RIDICULOUS!

Mariano Rivera is a good baseball player, but as a person... well, let's just say that someone who was accused of molesting a pre-teen boy at a youth baseball camp then paid the family $2 million to stay quiet won't find himself on my "good person" list.

he is a respectable player and doesn't let the pressure get to him. he is the best closer in the game and has done so much for the yanks, he is the go to guy, he has led them to so many key victories, and isn't the slightest bit cocky after all his accomplishments, he is a loyal player and has stuck with the yankees through good and bad, Go Mo!!
