Oxygen and water make rust. Fortunately metal head plates are treated chemically so they don't rust. Although, I think yours may be a little questionable. You should have it checked.

This will not happen unless the Doctors make a huge mistake. Most of the time the metal that is put in a human body is made of surgical steel, or at least a metal that will not corode.. It just wouldnt do to have bits and pieces of corroded metal breaking off poisoning your body!

Not unless you were too cheap to pay for titanium, which is what they are usually made from (doesn't rust)

I think those things are Teflon coated, so they don't rust.
