Which is better to die first? Husband or Wife?

Question

A girl asked me one time, "If we were married, when we get old which one us do you hope would die first."
This is one of those tricky romantic/philosophical questions. I know the preffered answer that a woman asking the question would want to hear. I just want to hear how everyone else would answer.

Neither. The one left behind suffers the most...most of the time.

Neither. I would want my husband and I to die peacefully of old age in our bed together. Just like the couple did in the book/movie "The Notebook." That is if I had our choice of dieing.

Humm that's a tough question..I really can't tell you because I have already buried two husbands and I am still going strong..I always thought we would die together in our very old age. I had hoped neither one of them would of died.

I personally would say the husband would be better to go first. Mothers are nurturing and they can deal with the pain in their children's heart then prepare them for her death. That is my philosophical answer.

I try not to think about things like this.
I hope I die first, It's so painful to lose someone you love.
I've already lost my mom, my grandparents and my sweet baby grand-daughter, she was only 12 days old.

I say the hubby. Because I am the wife and I want to be with my kids for a very long time.

Oh God i dont know, to be selfish, i wanna go first. I cannot imagine life without my husband, but I hate to think of him on this earth suffering without me. Plus we have kids.....I really dont know!
