If you used a condom for a minute and it had spermicide. Will the spermicide stay in there if you have unprotected sex after just taking it off?

I didn't intentionally just use the condom for the spermicide, I actually use it for protection but then we decided to not use it. So now I'm just wondering if the spermicide was still there and effective.

While the spermicide will remain in you there will not be enough to kill all of the sperm in the ejaculation. The amount of spermicide on a condom is just enough to catch the ones that sneak out. You know they actually sell spermicide without condoms.

Amanda is right, the spermicide is there just in case a few happen to leak out. Even if the condom breaks, you should take additional measures to prevent pregancy. Don't rely on the spermicide for that situation.

There is nowhere NEAR enough spermicide on a spermicidally lubricated condom to kill any sperm from unprotected sex -- the sex you engaged in after sex with the condom. Most of it comes off in the package and on your hands when you put it on. No...I would NOT rely on residual spermicide from a coated condom to protect you from pregnancy.

No, it will not provide enough protection. If you are going to have unprotected sex anyways, why not just skip the condom and go buy a spermicide. If you are too embarrased, then you are too young to be having sex... If you are going to have sex anyways, don't do it unprotected. Not only is there pregnancy, but STD's run RAMPANT these days. Trust nobody. :)

No, the "friction" will start to dissolve it, and there isn't enough to come off of the condom. The reason it sometimes works on condoms is that the condom has been soaking in it for days/weeks.
