Contact your clerk of District Court in your area and request information on how to obtain an order of protection. She's is 17-years old and your still the parent, so you still have a perfect right to protect her. Your local Sheriff's office or Police Department should also have information on obtaining Protective Orders.
Good luck with your problem, hope it works out.

Police did not contact CPS apparently. Yes, you can. Does she want it? She will do all she can to violate (i.e. cause him to violate) the stayaway order because her anger will be turned on you. Ex boyfriends with stayaway orders start to look awfully good. You have no power to compel her not to see him except to take everything out of her room except a bed and then let her earn her stuff back. At 18 she will try to screw you but if she is still under your roof, you call the shots. If he was doing drugs, so has your daughter and that is a bigger draw as time goes by than boyfriend's "exciting" sexual talk and play. You let things get out of control because you did not take a close look early on. Too late but if he is truly a creep then start getting his legal "jacket" stitched together. Daughters learn the hard way when they have tasted the "wild" life and the "wild" men. Everything else is booooooring! Read Ten Stupid Things Women Do to Mess Up Their Lives by Dr. Laura Schlessinger. Go out and buy it now or get it at the library. Then read "Ten Stupid Things Parents Do To Mess up Their Children."

It depends where you live. Basically you have to go through the courts or authorities. Its an easy process thats not very time consuming. You ask for the P.P.O(personal protection order) paper work forms, if you have had to call the authorities and have a report or a statement made against him already its a lot easier.
As long as your daughter is a minor you can file a PPO against him to not have contact with her or any immediate family member and to stay a legal distance from your home or work places at all times. An officer of the courts will be dispatched to his home to walk him through the court order and to make shure that he fully understands all of it and to have him sighn his copy of his limitations. Good luck!

Well, you can go to court and ask for a restraining order. It will only be in effect until she's 18. Honestly, one mom to another, it will only make it worse. She'll see him if she wants to no matter what you do, unless you give her other activities to take up her time and get her interested in other things besides this dude.
I'd also visit with his parents if that's an option and let them know how unhappy you are, they might be good for a little pressure on him, you never know.

Yes you have legal rights. Your daughter is a minor under your care. Her X is an adult and can be treated as one. Not to mention if they are having sexual relations that is considered rape. I recommend that you talk to your local DA.

It varies by state but you should be able to get a restraining order.
It depends on the legal age of consent in your state and if your daughter is willing to stay away from him.

Yes you do, where your daughter is under the legal age. You can legally get a restraining order if there is probably cause for abuse, violence etc.
