Room Themes?

Question

I have a blue room right now but my mom said I can get it all redone. Any suggestions? Please help I can't wait!!

YES!!! But since you are an animal lover- do you like one particular one more than others?? I LOVE tigers, they are just so beautiful, both the white ones and the orange one's so my LR is done up with tigers everywhere I can put them and then I added jungle type things, lots of plants and covered my white couch with green sheets but if you don't have ONE favorite then I wouldn't try an animal theme! Maybe just an outdoor type of theme, birds, bees etc... Keep in mind you will have to look at it everyday so be careful with what you choose!

YES... Stop Animal Abuse!

Ask yourself what you really, really like. Favorite colours? Blue, Red, Pink, White???
Then ask yourself .. Will it make the room look to small.. Lighter shades tend to open up spaces.

Stay AWAY from Blacks and Gray. They are depressing and alter your mood.

Do you like Horses, or Cows? If so then you might like a off white (beige) colour. If you want a little bit more work you can even use Tissue paper and apply it to the wall. Makes it look like leather. Ask your local hardware store about how to do that. I’d tell you but it would be kind of long. It’s really easy though. Maybe one wall?

You can cut out pictures of your favorite things. Sports, Cats, or Dogs, etc.. and get a BIG poster frame. Make a collage, (mixture of all the pictures), and hang it up.

Under Water? If you have a bigger room. A somewhat darker blue and do underwater pictures. Sea urchins, Fish, Etc.. Even if you print them on a HOME printer and frame them…

If you like the beach.. They sell Seashells cheap!!! Take some Seashells and use a clear glue and paste them to a THIN 1 /4” x 2” wide board. Maybe paint the board a VERY light gray. Hang the boards right at the ceiling like a crown molding. 99cent stores have baskets of seashells for $1.00 here. I personally found some on Ebay, Oriental Trading Co. has them. The reason for the boards? So you can take down the boards without harming the walls. And you can clean them!!!

Sea shells ALSO look great glued to frames!!


Lighting:

They have all types of lighting. For underwater I’d do one of those WAVE lights. They don’t put off a lot of light. But at night they shine blue and rock back and forth.

Astronomy??? STARS!! They have lighting that looks like stars and display on your ceiling.

60’s? Lava Lamp!!!! Those are cool.. Check prices….


Oriental Theme?????

Lots of Bamboo, maybe blinds? Chinese letters? Martial arts theme. Pagodas, Buddha, incense????

get a wallpaper with animals and cute seals
make ur room theme Antartic with light blue walls, and sort of white/blue carpet to represent water.

Geek girl, all to do with technology.

Library, walls of books, study / reading table and book lamp.

Star gazer all about planets and stars big telescope

Ballerina, mirrored wall, balance beam, wood floors, spartan look.
