I found them looking around online, but couldn’t really find anything about them are what they do.
Are they just a shifter for a Automatic so you can either use automatic or manual?

i own a repair shop,an the newest kind of automatic shifters doest really require you to have a shifter,,its done with a solenoid,,and a switch,that you use,and it selects the gear for you,,there kind of neat in a way,,and it can be mounted in the steering column also,,this is the good part about them,,i have only seen one ,but im sure we,ll be seeing a lot more of them out there before long..good luck,i hope this help,s.

It's a shifter, plain and simple. The mechanical mechanism that connects to the shift valves in the automatic transmission. Every automatic has one, the aftermarket ones are generally manufactured to allow better control of the shifting (like for drag racing) so you can slam the gears without missing one. Not unlike a manual shifter.

They are a replacement for you shifter so it looks like a manual. For example when you push the button on the side to change from reverse to drive. On some aftermarket shifter it can be on the top so it gives the impression of a manual. Sorry if that was confusing!
It's just a way to make your ride unique and cool!!

I don't no if you are talking about the one that they yous in drag racing or not but if you are most come in a package deal some yous solenoids and some work off of air the shift the trans threw the gears at a set RPM range the cut you reaction time Hope this helps
