I've just been introduced to utorrent and downloading movies etc. I have windows media player but neither that nor utorrent appear to offer a means of actually playing a selected utorrent download. Help!?

Someone already explained that you might have to unzip some files, I thought I'd tell you the rest. You may also get a .Bin .Cue file. That is one you are supposed to burn directly to a disk. .Avi will play nicely on nero. I'd suggest you download winrar and nero.
When you open a torrent for download, scroll across and check the file type BEFORE you download it.

i agree divx is a great progarm. Also what what ur downloading look for torrent whick are labled dvd-rip. Also if you have Nero you can play them with it and convert to dvd movie. If not just download it...

vlc media player is the best.
download and install it, then go to
file--> quick open file--> directory where u saved movie
it should work fine
