We were given a high chair before our first was even born. We didn't use it until he was about 6 months old, sitting well and ready to start solids.
They take up SOOOooooo much room! I was actually much happier with the booster seat we bought ourselves later on. Cheaper, more versitile, takes up less room and easy to travel with. Also easier to clean.

The highchair was given to me, but I didn't start putting my babies into it until they were able to hold their heads up, sit up, and could be strapped in without them falling out. Hmmm... sorry, I can't really remember how old they were. What they were capable of was more important to me.

Highchairs are a waist of money and space. Buy a booster seat with it's own table. It is just like have one. I got one for Nika when she was eight months old.

We received our high chair as a baby shower gift before my daughter was born. She began using it at 5 1/2 months old when she started eating baby food :)

well i'm a grandmother of three when they each turned about five months old and could sit up on there own I put each one of them in a high chair. So I would say from about 5 monthe to 6 months depending on the child.

When they start eating cereal, My high chair tilted back and moved up and down for comfort it was great. My daughter loved it was a good eater my son refused to have help eating and would have no interest in sitting down to eat. I put a plate out for him and he snacked when he wanted to. Kids are all different It will happen when it happens

Got it at the baby shower and used it immediately because it reclined back like an infant carrier.
