Indy T - So you think being gay is 'childish'? And you set the definition of what effimancy is and who can 'get away' with being 'flamboyant' and who can't?

What are you? The "Sissy" Police?

No, there is no rule that says that gay men are required to act feminine and FABulous. I actually think it's the other way around. I think that a lot of gay kids act feminine and flamboyant cuz it's kind of expected of them and it's part of "being gay". I've noticed this with myself and a few of my friends.

I don't. I feel I am happy to be a man and never want or wanted to be or act like a woman. I just like having sex with men. I work with the L.A.F.D. and hang around the guys and they have no idea what i'm into and would probably freak out if they knew. It is really a turn on to be secret "Gay" cause I get to see them naked and that wouldn't happen if they knew! LOL

No, actually the majority of them just tend to have a little Dignity about themselves, not to use their sexuality as an excuse to make a spectacle of themselves. They are quite adept at both, being an adult and being themselves and are secure enough in their sexuality to not have to worry whether or not anyone in particular knows that they are gay, they don't have the childish urge to carry on in such a manner that even the most oblivious person around takes notice of their sexuality.

it truly is between the perfect questions i have considered right here. The solutions are also exciting, precise, or maybe stunning. it truly is been my small commentary that many men nonetheless imagine they have the added useful deal and "women folk's artwork" is dull. one ingredient that stunned me in interpreting the solutions is what number women folk stated effective issues about the artwork they do and how pleasing it would want to be. i have worked outdoors the homestead in severe tech industries that homestead initiatives can't carry a candle to so some distance as complexity, and exciting challenge count number and that i love the stimulating ecosystem. i'd bypass bonkers attempting to develop youthful babies. i'd also bypass bonkers with concern if I had to strive against in a conflict. I agree that roles are replacing, yet there continues to be a tremendous type of social rigidity for human beings to seem or act particular methods. for instance, women folk can placed on just about some thing, yet a guy might want to lose his job, relations, even his existence, if he wore women folk's clothing in public. i imagine i am going to ask a question about this sometime. I also see how men can benefit financially from their preparation and artwork. many women folk nonetheless attempt to marry someone who can help them. however, in the journey that they don't benefit adequate financially from the marriage, and outlive their spouse, then they could have little money, or preparation to position self assurance in even as they become older. She gained't have had sturdy paying jobs lengthy adequate to get social protection so she might want to face poverty. it truly is a puzzling question to respond to, yet a sturdy answer can help many human beings. perchance discover out a thanks to get by is to no longer difficulty about belongings you could't substitute and study a thanks to get alongside to boot as you could with what you've obtainable (i.e. abilities, understanding, possessions, inspite of.)

I think it is you who is suffering from the idea that there is "gay-acting" and "straight-acting". Gayness isn't synonymous with a complete reversal of gender roles. Anyone could be gay -- sexual orientation and personality are for the most part independent.

Often, yes. Other times, they're just following the leads of those who do. (I'm speaking here only of those who actually use the phrase "straight acting", and not necessarily those who might be classified as such by someone else). If I have to explain the linguistic problems with the phrase....bah. Not worth my time right now.

What do you mean by 'straight-acting'? Do you mean men who have sex with women? In that case they are bi or haven't come to terms with being gay yet.

I think you should realize that not everyone is going to behave in a stereotypical manner. That doesn't mean that they are self-hating or brainwashed by society. Perhaps you have some gender-role conditioning issues yourself when it comes to gay stereotypes? Broaden your horizons and learn to accept that there isn't one way to "act" gay.

I don't know, but I would think it would be more the other way around. Those that act flamey would be more confused about gender roles. How does how they act determine who they are or who they love, does it matter anyway?

My best friend is gay, and he says the 'straight-acting' gay is like the Loch Ness Monster. People say they've seen it, but no one can prove it exists.

I'm straight 'acting'---I hesitate to call it acting because it's not--it's just who I am. So as there is a spectrum from homo to heterosexuality..there is also a spectrum of gay acting-straight acting gays.
