Everybody has a personality of their own. First of all accept this fact that you are not ugly or timid or shy. God creates everybody who is an individual by himself/herself and with their own sets of discreet qualities that no one else possesses. I guess if you are being nice, courteous and limited in talking - you a re sober. And believe me a sober person always lands up with genuine friends / GF's. What matters most is that you have genuine friends to be of keep sake. You can open up to anyone by just being yourself. opening up is something nobody can teach you coz you have your own nature. Destroy your shyness with your intellect. Sometimes people are shy because they dont know what to talk or on what to talk - that means lack of knowledge or information in certain areas. Upgrade yourself. Become an intellectual and knowledge will ease out your peoblem quite a bit and stay yourself. Stop comparing yourself with others for god's sake. You have your own good points which no one else may even possess. If you stop thinking negative about yourself and thinking that you are inferior to someone - it would do a lot good to you and your so called problem which actually is not a problem at all. you just need to be confident, knowledged and be able to be your sober self. be good, courteous and nice and stop getting an inferiority complex.

You can't prevent shyness - eventually it will fade when you feel more comfortable with the situation. I was shy in 12th grade. I think it was because I hadn't fully grown up yet and because although I had known these people all my life I was afraid they would judge me.

Then I went to uni. I met some people there and they bought out the best in me. I guess it can depend on the environment. I had to grow up at that time. I had to work in groups with people for projects. I had to get out and that meant making friends.

I don't know when you will hit out of the shyness stage. Just think about what could be if you weren't and that might make you more confident.

Have you attempted CBT ? Cognitive Behaviour Therapy ? I was once bullied in the course of my adolescence and teen years and feature suffered from shyness and social anxiousness for this reason. CBT is the fine factor I recognize. There is a publication referred to as the shyness and social anxiousness workbook. Also leisure CD's are a well aid. Hope this is helping I am truthfully an RN and to be sincere I would not coach to do it once more if I would return in time. But that is simply me. What do you fairly desire to do ? What is your center telling you to do. If it is nursing then opt for it, We want a few well nurses for the longer term.

im in 12th grade as well and i used to be pretty shy but am now pretty outgoing...It was kind of hard to break out of the shyness, but I think as you grow more confident with yourself you will become more outgoing. dont think of it as having anything to do with looks, because there really is so much more to it than that, and if thats where your mindset is, its holding you back! its hard starting up a conversation with someone you just met, but i'd try to talk about where you are/what your doing..like if your at a concert, ask how theyve liked it so far and then what theyre favorite band is.
good luck with everything, i hope things turn out good and i hope maybe i was able to help you out a little bit

I'm in highschool too, and I have some friends who are pretty shy. I just try to encourage them to say "hi" to new people. You said you don't have the courage... well that's what you have to fix! =) Just buck up your courage and try it. As for communication skills, just try to talk about what you know. You can do it! You sound like a great guy who just needs a chance. Take that chance and say hi! Good luck!

Comming up to the beautiful girl, you should say many times to yourself: 'I must do it, or I will lose. It's now or never.' It helps to me comming to a guy. You also can painfully tweak yourself, saying it or clinch fists. It helps. Never lose your fate.
